The long-awaited script from the novel KATE, has recently been completed. KATE is a heart-warming Hallmark type true story, only with a great deal more depth of character and content.

There are three proposed budgets, a complete investment package, and distribution commitment in place as well. The film is being independently produced and privately financed.

The tentative locations for the project are: Private Beverly Hills residences (1 week) - Cook Park San Juan Capistrano / Fisherman Restaurant San Clemente (4 weeks) - UCLA Medical Center (1 week) - Westmont College, Montecito Ca. (3 days) - 

Continuing: The Fairmont Hotel San Francisco - - Camarillo Airport (3 days) - Private Residence Stables in Hidden Valley (1 week) - Big Canyon Country Club Newport Beach (1 week) - Westlake Village Studios if necessary. And one additional baseball park location.

The business partners in this endeavor are Steve Howell, owner and creator of Aerial Shot Productions and recipient of three Emmy awards, Kimber Eastwood, currently one unnamed partner, and myself.  

Kimber and Steve, have been in the picture business for years and are seasoned professionals. Kimber  is slated to act as Executive Producer of KATE.

KATE - Synopsis (One Sheet)

KATE 

Based On True Events

Kate walks out of the doctor’s office after receiving news she didn’t want to hear. She decides to take her mind of things for a while. She heads over to the local park to get in her daily dose of exercise.

After she completes her workout, she notices a ball game going on, at an adjoining ball field. She decides to walk over and watch the game for a while.   She focuses her attention on one young lady, who is a top-line pitcher for the Rampage Softball Club, in the Olympic sport of Girls-Fastpitch softball. 

Being an athlete herself, Kate is quite taken by this young lady. She has heard about this girl, and the many challenging obstacles she has overcome in her young life. At the conclusion of the game, she watches as the young lady walks to toward the stands and engages in conversation with a young friend in a wheel chair.

Kate immediately realizes that the young lady far exceeds the usual qualities of your normal high school athlete. This girl is mature well-beyond her years. She decides to introduce herself to the young lady. 

As they are talking Amy glances at a spare mitt laying on the ground. She walks over, picks the mitt up and hands it to Kate. Amy backs up and under hands the ball to Kate.

Kate gives a quick warm glance at Amy, smiles, and rifles the ball back to Amy. They both smile, as each seem impressed with each other’s athletic prowess. Several minutes later they put the mitts down and walk toward a dugout bench,

As they are walking, Kate suddenly experiences a dizzy spell. She looks at the bench that is now going around in circles. She makes a feeble attempt to reach for the seat but misses. Amy gently reaches for Kate’s arm and helps her as she attempts to sit down.

Amy reaches over and opens a bottles water. She pours water on one end of the towel and hands it to Kate who now begins to come around a bit. She sits down next to her new friend as a faint smile begins to appear on Kate’s face.

After talking for several minutes, they both learn they have a great deal in common. Their relationship quickly begins to flourish and they realize that a series of events in their past, is the reason why they are drawn to each other now.

Bob’s Background

After Graduating from the University of Southern California, Bob’s college degree in Business Finance allowed him to enter the investment business as a Floor Trader, for the investment firm Wedbush, Noble and Cook, on the floor of the Pacific Coast Stock Exchange in Los Angeles, California.

Several years later when the stock market turned upside down, and because he was an outstanding golfer, he was invited to be one of the first Golf Professionals at the new and prestigious Big Canyon Country Club in Newport Beach. 

He immediately entered the Professional Golfer’s Association Apprentice Program, as well as becoming a "Certified Golf Instructor", with The United States Golf Teacher's Federation. He still markets his services to a select group of golf enthusiasts.

Bob won the first two Professional Golf Tournaments he entered, including the Andy Williams San Diego Open Pro Am. He played in numerous mini-tour events in Georgia, Florida, and the Carolina's. He also played on the former Grapefruit Tour in the Western United States, and was frequently among the “top 10” money earners.

While on the staff at Big Canyon Country Club, he met and subsequently cultivated a personal friendship with Randall Presley, Founder, President and CEO of Presley Development Company in Newport Beach, California.

Because of his vast experience, his personality, and his ability to get along with people, Bob was asked if he would consider terminating his responsibilities at Big Canyon, and assume the new responsibility of Sales Manager, at this time, the prestigious Nellie Gail Ranch in Laguna Hills, California.

Bob believed this was an opportunity that was too good to turn down. He accepted the challenge and within the first two years, he became one of the top New Home Sales persons in the country.

Years later and quite suddenly, a series of events transpired which threatened to change his life forever. To help him overcome the challenges that he knew Bob would face, a good friend urged him to begin writing a story about the series of events which would soon follow.

He realized after listening to his friend, that he should indeed heed his friend’s suggestion and begin writing the story which was about to unfold. This began an entirely new career for Bob.
